STEPHEN KOWAL

Chief Executive Officer, FTS Group

As FTS Group CEO, Stephen is accountable for overall leadership and direction of the group.  Stephen has extensive executive management experience in managing IT businesses, previously leading DXC Sales in ANZ and prior to that as the President for the CSC Australia and New Zealand Insurance and Banking business.

Stephen has in-depth experience in Insurance, Banking, Government and Natural Resources sectors holding senior roles in both the IT and commercial fields including several CIO roles within the USA, Chile and Australia.

Stephen has a Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Graduate Diploma in Finance, and Diploma in Insurance. Stephen is a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia, Senior Associate of Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF (Snr Assoc) CIP), and a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (MAICD).

KUNAL SHAH

Chief Financial Officer, FTS Group

As CFO, Kunal is responsible for the Group’s overall financial performance, back-end operations and developing and maintaining strong finance teams within FTS Group. Kunal has 21+ years of experience in the Accounting and Finance areas with his first 3 years in the field of Audit and Assurance, then ventured into the commercial world, working in the manufacturing, construction and technology industries.

Kunal joined FTS group as the CFO in 2015, and has led various projects for the harmonisation of accounting policies and financial systems across the federated group of companies within FTS Group. Kunal has extensive experience working with the sales and operations teams providing commercial and contractual guidance.

Kunal has a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce (Accounting) from Gujarat University and a Master’s of Business (Accounting) from the University of Technology, Sydney.

JULIA MERTEN

HR Leader, FTS Group

As HR Leader, Julia’s focus is to enhance organisational effectiveness and performance through people at FTS Group. She provides leadership coaching and support, oversees talent acquisition, performance feedback and management, provides HR support and runs projects to support FTS’s rapid growth.

Julia has 20+ years’ experience in HR, Quality Management and Change Management, joining FTS from one of our group companies, Cubic Consulting, and has held roles in Accenture and DA Consulting Group.

Julia holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics (Social Science) with Honours in Psychology from the University of Sydney and a Graduate Certificate of Change Management, from the Australian Graduate School of Management (UNSW).

Marty Holden - CIO - FTSG

MARTY HOLDEN

Head of Emerging Business & CIO, FTS Group

As Head of Emerging Business, Marty is accountable for the instigation, growth and development of emerging business capabilities within the FTS Group. The intent of the role is develop ‘start ups’ within the Group and develop them into successful and profitable capabilities for assimilation into broader FTS Group under the direction of the CEO. Additionally, Marty works as part of the FTS Group M&A team and is responsible for the successful integration of acquired entities into the Group.

Marty holds the position of chief information officer (CIO) and oversees the people, processes and technologies within the FTS Group to ensure they deliver outcomes that support the goals of the business.

Marty was one of the founding Executives and Director of Veritec, a technology, product and services firm that commenced in 2014 with a view to help its clients improve business performance through the use of technology. Marty has been in the IT industry for in excess of 30 years with experience in Government, Telecommunications, Travel and Logistics sectors; holding senior roles including CIO and General Manager within roles based in Australia, Hong Kong and USA.

JASON FROST

Chief Executive Officer, ANATAS

Jason has led ANATAS since 2015, strengthening Partner to Vendor relationships and growing the team significantly.  Jason has 25 years’ experience in software solutions and consulting services leadership, most recently with ACI, Kofax and Software AG.

Under Jason’s leadership, ANATAS now focuses on a small number of key technologies – webMethods, Dell Boomi, Parasoft and RedHat.  Customers are at the heart of the ANATAS business and the management structure ensures that customers are guided at all levels of business strategy, implementation delivery and project success.

Jason holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business (Computer and Information Management) from Western Sydney University.

DAVID DEKKER

Chief Executive Officer, Cubic Consulting

David joined Cubic Consulting early 2019 as CEO. He is responsible for growing the business and ensuring a world class delivery experience for Cubic’s customers.  During his tenure he has shifted the focus towards improving user adoption, signalling an outcome-based approach with a focus on Change Management, Communication and Enterprise Learning solutions.

Prior to joining Cubic Consulting David worked for 5 years for SAP, Germany’s biggest publicly listed company.  After successfully leading a team focusing on selling and delivering user enablement solutions in the Netherlands, SAP asked David to move to Australia and do the same for the ANZ region.  This experience is helping David grow Cubic Consulting’s services into areas like CRM, HR, Procurement and ERP.

David holds a Master’s in Science (Public Administration) and a Master’s in Arts at Cum Laude level (Philosophy), both from the Erasmus University Rotterdam, Netherlands.

JAMES BERESFORD

Chief Executive Officer, Talos and FTS Data & AI

James is passionate about helping people make smart, informed decisions and eliminating inefficiency. The former drives the focus of his business on delivering Data & Analytics solutions, the latter on Robotic Process Automation. His aim is to combine the two elements to help create the intelligent digital workforce, and informs his leadership approach.

James has been in consulting over a decade, building solutions for Government and Commercial customers with a strong focus on end user outcomes enabled by his skill in building a dedicated team to achieve these outcomes for customers.

James has a Bachelor’s Degree in Science (Hons) in Chemistry from the University of Manchester and a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Wales Institute Cardiff.

Richard Hill - CEO - Galaxy 42

RICHARD HILL

Chief Executive Officer, Galaxy 42

Richard was one of the original Co-Founders of Galaxy42 in 2014 and took over the role of CEO from the beginning of 2020. Prior to that Richard was Chief Operating Officer for Galaxy42 and played an integral role in driving Galaxy42’s growth and development. Galaxy42 has become the largest independent provider of TechnologyOne consulting services throughout Australia. It has developed a loyal and extensive client base along with some unique industry expertise, particularly in Local Government, which has seen Galaxy42 extend it service offerings to include the Infor Pathway application.

Richard has 30+ years’ experience in the IT industry, starting his IT career as an IT Manager at R J Gilberton’s where he worked on, what was then, TechnologyOne’s fourth customer. After leaving Gilberton’s Richard has held senior management roles with TechnologyOne, Jigsaw Services and Red Rock Consulting before moving to Galaxy 42 full-time in July 2017. Richard has a Business Degree and commenced his professional career in the audit department of Deloitte Haskins and Sells.

JEFF BUGDEN

Chief Executive Officer, KoBold

Jeff brings a 45-year track-record in technical, managerial and executive roles throughout Australia in industry and Defence.   He established Ball Solutions Group (Australia) in 1996 – growing it to 200 employees – and established Kobold Group and SME Gateway in 2003 – achieving revenues of $50m in 2018.

Jeff is a Member of the Order of Australia and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical), a Master’s in Science (Avionics and Flight Controls) and is the holder of three Diplomas (Administrative Studies, Science, Navigation Studies and Corporate Directors Studies). He is a Chartered Professional Engineer, a Fellow of Engineers Australia and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management.

Greg Mace - CEO - Veritec

GREG MACE

Chief Executive Officer, Veritec

Greg was appointed CEO of Veritec in June 2020 and prior to that held a General Manager position at Veritec since 2018, leading both the Sales and Business Applications Delivery teams during that time. In the past two years Greg has played an integral role in driving Veritec’s growth and development, increasing the company’s footprint within a number of its key strategic accounts including Department of Defence and Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment.

He has 20+ years’ experience in the IT industry, starting his career as a Business Analyst and Project Manager working in the field of business application software development primarily at the Australian Taxation Office. Since leaving the APS Greg has held senior management roles with Program Planning Professionals (Pcubed), Avanade and Oracle. Greg is a Microsoft Certified IT Professional, Prince 2 Practitioner, and holds an Advanced Diploma of Project Management from the Australian Institute of Project Management.
